ACB raids Congress MLA’s house in Vizag

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials began simultaneous raids on five locations belonging to Congress MLA from Elamanchili Uppalapati Venkata Ramanamurthy Raju alias Kanna Babu in the city, Rambili and Elamanchili on Wednesday.

Following directions from the ACB Court to investigate into a complaint of disproportionate assets of the MLA, the ACB teams comprising officers and personnel from the city, Vizianagaram and Vijayawada began the raids at 7 a.m.

The teams are conducting simultaneous raids on the residence of the MLA, the residence of his daughter and offices of his son in the city and on the properties belonging to the MLA in Elamanchili and Rambili, ACB Deputy Superintendent of Police N Venkateswara Rao told the media.

Documents seized during the raids would be sent to the ACB Head Office in Hyderabad. The ACB officials would have to verify if the documents seized during the raid were the ones listed in the FIR.
