RTA to auction seized vehicles on February 28

February 09, 2017 12:42 am | Updated 12:42 am IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

The Transport Department will conduct an auction on Feb. 28 to dispose off the vehicles, seized in various raids conducted by the department, according to Deputy Transport Commissioner S. Venkateswara Rao.

The decision to auction the vehicles was taken as the owners of the vehicles had failed to pay the taxes and the compounding fee as levied by the department.

Mr. Venkateswara Rao said the owners/financiers could pay the tax arrears along with the compounding fee and take their vehicles till the day of auction, failing which the vehicles would be auctioned without further notice.

Other details about the auction could be seen on the notice board at the office of the Regional Transport Authority at Madhavadhara VUDA Colony. The seized vehicles have been kept at the RTC Depots at Simhachalam, Maddilapalem and Waltair and at the Driving Test Track at Gambeeram.

The bidder has to pay ₹5000 on that day to participate in the auction and the successful bidder would have to pay half of the bid amount immediately after the auction and the balance within seven working days after that and take possession of the vehicle. Details can be had from the RTA Office on all working days.
