: The AP Private Schools Association (APPSA) has reiterated the demand to scrap the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) pattern, introduced in schools in the State and revert to old system of examinations conducted by the District Common Examination Board (DCEB) for the betterment of the students.
The APPSA, which met Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao in the past on the issue, sent a fresh memorandum on Saturday appealing to him to save students, teachers and school managements of the hassles of the new system, which was taxing and confusing students and teachers alike.
APSA State chairman K.S.N. Murthy said the government introduced the CCE pattern with internal assessments from the academic year 2016-17. In this system, the academic year consists of four Formative Assessments (FAs) and three Summative Assessments (SAs). The SAs created a lot of confusion and disturbance during the academic year 2016-2017. Steps should be taken immediately to save the students at least during the next academic year.
At a time when the Central Board of Secondary Education removed the CCE pattern, there is no point in the AP government adopting this method, the APPSA State chairman said.
