A city-based startup is using technology for making day-to-day tasks much simpler by way of chatbots. For instance, if you are looking to buy a specific laptop, instead of browsing through a deluge of e-commerce sites to understand which one offers you the best price and which model has the best rating, you simply use a chatbot which will give you the best link of the site by analysing the price and reviews on multiple sites.

The startup Palletes Digital has created this new chatbot called ‘Masterchief’, inspired from ‘Halo’, the favourite game of startup founders. Founded by a team of B.Tech graduates Anusha Kovvuri, G.V.S. Chaitanya, Kamesh Poolla and Sindhu Kovvuri – the startup is working to revolutionise the traditional ways of brand marketing by integrating digital technology for better brand engagement. Chatbot is a computer programme that can have automated text conversations from users using artificial intelligence and natural language processing. Remember J.A.R.V.I.S. - Tony Stark’s artificially intelligent computer in ‘Iron Man’ who controls everything in Stark’s house? Chatbots are a similar platform which is now available for all.

“The beta phase of this will be out soon. We are coordinating with Australia based agency called Xanderlabs for this. Once the testing stage is over, we plan to reach out to various brands who can immensely benefit from this,” Chaitanya told The Hindu .

Chatbots generated buzz last year following Facebook opening its Messenger platform to third-party developers. “Chatbots are one way the brands can have direct communication with consumers in a place where they are already spending the bulk of their time. It is a matter of time that Chatbots will replace the search window,” explained Chaitanya.

Started in October 2014 with an aim to provide 360 degree digital brand marketing services, Digital Palletes has tapped the Hyderabad and Bangalore markets and worked with big brands like Malabar Gold, Titan, IIM-Bangalore and edX. Among their earlier works, the Vizag startup created the apps and done social media marketing for Hostelnpg.com - a hostel and PG aggregator app that helps people find hostels and PGs across the country, Admizz.com, an educational startup, MotorNinja – an on-demand motor servicing assistant from Hyderabad and Bookaflower.com - a flower delivery servicing operating worldwide. “We are right now in talks with IIM Bangalore for their social media marketing. We have developed a couple of their internal websites and digital marketing strategy for Headstart Bangalore, its students’ community group,” said Anusha, who handles the marketing strategy for the startup.
