The five remaining trains, being diverted through Duvvada, will soon be re-routed through Visakhapatnam, according to Rajya Sabha Member T. Subbarami Reddy. The proposal for re-routing the diverted trains will be introduced in the Railway Budget 2013 following which they would be run through Visakhapatnam Railway Station, he claimed. The trains which are presently by-passing Visakhapatnam are: Howrah – Vasco Da Gama – Howrah tri-weekly, Bhagalpur-Yeshwantpur-Bhagalpur Superfast Express, Santragachi-Tirupathi-Santragachi weekly superfast, Shalimar-Puttaparthi-Shalimar weekly Express and Howrah-Pondicherry weekly Express. Mr. Subbarami Reddy said that he had brought the issue to the notice of the Railway Minister and the Chairman of the Railway Board.

He claimed that they had also conceded the long- pending demand to provide a halt to Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam Garib Rath Express at Duvvada.
