Five occupants of an autorickshaw, including the driver, were killed in a road accident when the autorickshaw collided with a car near Etigairampeta under Golugonda Police Station limits in the district on Friday.
The deceased were identified as D Appa Rao (50), M Balaraju (45), B Nagamani (50), S Pothuraju (45) and S Kasulamma (37), all were native of Koyyuru and Golugonda. Golugonda SI G. Uma Maheswara Rao said that the autorickshaw was going towards Narsipatnam from Downuru and the driver Appa Rao had lost control over the vehicle and hit a car. Appa Rao, Balaraju and Nagamani died on the spot while Pothu Raju and Kasulamma succumbed to their injuries on the way to a hospital.
