As part of its efforts to promote young talent in Classical music, the Visakha Music Academy is organising a three-day Youth Festival of Music from Friday. The music festival, sponsored by Sadyojatam Trust, would feature young talent from the City, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Hyderabad and Chennai with two concerts each day starting at 6.15 p.m. at the Kalabharati auditorium, according to VMA secretary M.S. Srinivas in a statement here.
On Friday Dwaram V.N. Priya Bhavana and Duvvuri Jayalakshmi Srisruti of Visakhapatnam would perform a Carnatic concert. They would be accompanied by M. Sriramya on violin and V. Sai Srikar on mridangam. The second concert would be a veena recital by B Ravi Kiran of Rajahmundry, he would be accompanied by A. Kameswara Rao of Rajahmundry on mridangam.
On Saturday Tejas Mallela of Hyderabad would give a Carnatic concert with Pappu Gyandev of Chennai on violin and V. Jayadeep Sarma of Visakhapatnam on mridangam. The second concert would be by Satwika Vuppuluri of Vijayawada with H Ramacharan of the city on violin and K Aravind of Vijayawada on mridangam.
On Sunday Pappu Gyandev of Chennai would give a violin concert with Pappu Jayadev of Chennai on mridangam and M. Kamesh of Visakhapatnam on ghatam. The second concert would feature Haritha Sisters – M. Sri Haritha and M. Sharika – of Viskahapatnam. They would be accompanied by city-based N.V.S. Lakshmi Prasanna on violin and N. Karthik on mridangam.
The programmes are open to all and each concert would be of 90 minutes, Mr Srinivas said.
