3 of robbers’ gang arrested

The Kancharapalem police on Thursday arrested three of a four-member gang for their involvement in 15 house breaking and property offences and recovered around 530 gms of gold jewellery, 5 kgs of silver ornaments and articles and one Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle from their possession.

The arrested were Nunela Krishna (33), Pureddy Murali Krishna (27) and Gouda Praveen Kumar (24), all residents of Gopalapatnam area in the city, and fourth accused Bola Nagasai is still at large.

Together, they were involved in 15 cases of burglary and vehicle lifting in Visakhapatnam, East Godavari and Srikakulam districts.

DCP (Crime) T. Ravi Kumar Murthy said Nunela Krishna was an ex-convict and earlier involved in a rape case under Malkapuram police station limits in the city and had in the past committed 11 property offences on his own under various police station limits in the city between 2011 and 2013.

Nunela Krishna has a criminal track record and was a listed dossier criminal at Malkapuram Police Station limits. Puredy Murali Krishna took to crime after incurring heavy losses in transport business.

After release from the prison in September 2015, Nunela Krishna formed the gang with Murali Krishna, Praveen Kumar and Nagasai, and they targeted five houses at Gajuwaka, four houses at Pendurthi and one each at Arilova and PM Palem police station limits besides three houses at Kakinada and one at Srikakulam, in the past few months, the DCP added.
