3 jailed for smuggling ganja

The Metropolitan Session Judge sentenced three person, who were caught smuggling ganja ,for 10 years rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹ 1 lakh on each, here on Friday.

The convicted were identified as Malothu Raju of Karimnagar, Tejovath Naresh and Daravath Nazeer, both from Warangal.

The trio were arrested near Bora Caves junction in Araku mandal in the Agency for transporting and smuggling 614 kgs of dry ganja.

They were caught by the enforcement team of Prohibition and Excise and booked under various sections of NDPS Act.

The Excise team was led by Assistant Commissioner SVVN Babji Rao.
