Director General of Police (DGP) J.V. Ramudu was non-committal on the appointment of a full-time Commissioner of Police for the city and as well as on upgrading the Commissionerate to Additional DG status.
Interacting with the media after a review meet with officers, here on Monday, the DGP put the delay in the appointment of the CP on the final list of officers, which was still awaited post bifurcation of the State.
“The final list of segregation of All-India Service Officers is yet to be finalised by the Centre and once it is done we shall post a full-time Commissioner and we expect the list to be finalised shortly,” he said.
On upgrading the Commissionerate, he pointed out, whether it was of IG rank or ADG rank, policing would continue and it would not make much of a difference.
The Commissionerate has been without a full-time commissioner since May this year. North Coastal Zone IG Atul Singh has been operating as in-charge Commissioner.
