As many as 12 motorists, mostly students, were arrested by the city police for performing feats and indulging in car racing on the wide roads near Kapuluppada on Sunday.

A number of youths were performing stunts and indulging in racing on the wide roads near the IT hills at Madhurawada. They race at break-neck speed and apply brakes all of a sudden to make the car turn around. This has been happening for a long time.

In February this year a boy was killed when some youths performed stunts.

“We have arrested the 12 accused who are racing and performing feats and seized their seven cars, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Madhurawada) K. Ranga Raju said.
