The main objective of Ms. Sharmila’s padayatra was to win their confidence by giving them a patient hearing
Lanka Babu and Nandamuri Srinivas Ratnakar of Krishna district have been appointed members of the YSR Congress Party’s State Publicity Committee.
Issuing orders to this effect, party’s State committee convener Vijaychandar said Lanka Babu and Ratnakar, who were in the party’s district-level steering committee, had been working relentlessly for the party’s progress ever since its inception.
He said the two were in charge of Penamaluru and Pedana constituencies respectively at the time of party chief Jaganmohan Reddy’s Odarpu Yatra.
Acknowledging their sincere efforts for development of the party in their respective areas, the district leadership had recommended their elevation to the State unit, he said.
Expressing gratitude to the party’s district convener Samineni Udaya Bhanu, who, they said, was instrumental in their elevation, they promised to continue the good work at the State-level and vowed to strengthen the party by inducting active cadre.
Referring to the proposed maha padayatra by Sharmila from October 18, they said they would work sincerely to ensure its grand success.
Meanwhile, party’s trade wing urban convener Konijetti Ramesh promised to drum up support of the local traders for Ms. Sharmila’s proposed padayatra.
He said the State was undergoing a grim phase and the traders’ community was hit hard by the anti-people policies of the government. Leaders of various political parties had failed to infuse confidence among people.
The main objective of Ms. Sharmila’s padayatra was to win their confidence by giving them a patient hearing, he said.
There were nearly 6 lakh small-scale traders across the State and many of them were forced to shut down their units due to recent developments.
Many others were on the verge of closing shop, he lamented.
