YSR Congress (YSRC) will win 15 MLA and at least four MP seats in Telangana. Many may consider this as overconfidence but it will happen, Ummareddy Venkateswarlu, central governing council member of the party, has said.

Speaking at a Meet-the-Press programme organised by Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ) here, he said many people had benefited from the policies introduced by YSR and people were confident that Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy would fulfil all promises made by the party.

Mr. Venkateswarlu said YSRC was coming up with a price stabilisation fund of Rs.3,000 crore to help farmers and a crop calamity fund of Rs. 2,000 crore to bail them out from losses inflicted by cyclones and drought. YSRC was laying emphasis on agriculture and had plans to set up three agricultural universities in Rayalaseema and Coastal and North Andhra regions.

This apart, two toll-free numbers would be set up on the lines of 108 to help farmers and cattle breeders, he added.

When questioned about the allegations that YSRC had fielded candidates involved in various cases, he said some of them faced charges but no one was convicted.
