YSRC State-level meet tomorrow

June 13, 2016 12:00 am | Updated October 18, 2016 01:05 pm IST - VIJAYAWADA:

Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy and other top leaders of the YSR Congress (YSRC) will take stock of the performance of the TDP during its two-year rule, in a meeting scheduled to be organised in the city on June 14.

Announcing this at a press conference on Sunday, Punganur (Chittoor) MLA Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy said that the TDP rule was high on promises but low on action, and it was reflected in the various problems faced by the people. Some TDP MPs, Ministers, and MLAs become richer overnight by purchasing vast tracts of land in the Capital region, he alleged.

The process of calling and finalising tenders for various projects was fraught with irregularities, but the government would pose counter questions when grilled for answers.

Mr. Ramachandra Reddy said the TDP “purchased” YSRC MLAs for huge sums and got ‘Sakshi’ channel blocked as it exposed the “wrongdoings” of the government and the ruling party leaders.

If the same situation continued, the TDP would run into serious trouble during the 2019 elections, he asserted. Mr. Ramachandra Reddy accused Mr. Chandrababu Naidu of cheating the farmers and DWCRA groups by not getting their loans waived as he had promised earlier.

“If he has the courage, Mr. Naidu should submit a white paper on the loan waiver,” he demanded, adding that A.P. was bound to suffer on account of the slew of illegal irrigation projects undertaken by Telangana.

MLA K. Rakshana Nidhi, Kolusu Parthasaradhi, and P. Gowtham Reddy were among those present.
