YSRC may field Gowtham Reddy

April 11, 2014 01:20 am | Updated May 21, 2016 10:20 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

Though the YSR Congress is yet to announce its candidate for the Vijayawada (Central) Assembly constituency, party sources indicate that P. Gowtham Reddy is the likely choice.

For a while, there was talk that sitting Congress MLA Malladi Vishnu may join YSRC and contest from the constituency. “Looks like Vishnu may not be given the ticket. But in politics one can never say till the last minute. As of know it looks like Mr. Gowtham Reddy is the man,” a senior YSRC leader said.

It is said Mr. Gowtham Reddy has already started campaigning and has been working in the constituency since long. A similar guessing game is on for the Penamaluru Assembly constituency. There is no clarity on whether or not former Secondary Education Minister and Congress leader K. Parthasarathy will be accommodated into the YSRC. It is learnt that he has evinced interest in not only joining the party but also contesting either from Penamaluru (Assembly) or Machilipatnam (Lok Sabha).
