The YSR Congress Party has made light of Intintiki Telugu Desam padayatra of Mylavaram MLA and TDP district unit president Devineni Umamaheswara Rao.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, the YSR Congress district official spokesperson Gaddam Mutha Reddy said that the TDP leader had failed to keep the promises made to the public in last elections.

On the top, he was taking out the padayatra. It was aimed at hoodwinking the people. Mr. Rao ridiculed the padayatra of YSR Congress leader Sharmila. Now, he was also on walkathon. With this, what message he wanted to send to the public, he asked.

The TDP leaders were more concerned about their photos in newspapers. Hence, they were making all baseless allegations against Ms. Sharmila and YSR Congress. Mr. Rao was part and parcel of corrupt practices of TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu, and became an address for corruption, he said.

Mr. Rao promised the people that Kondapalli khilla would be spruced up and developed as tourist centre. A tomato market was promised at G. Kondur mandal. Balancing reservoir to provide irrigation waters to Pondugala, Chandragudem, Morusumalli tanks, ITI college at Mylavaram, a bridge on Budameru regulator were some of the other promises.

None of the promises were fulfilled, he pointed out, adding, that he owed an explanation to the people.
