District Collector S. Satyanarayana released posters of the ensuing World Heart Day celebrations in Kurnool general hospital on Friday. The celebrations would be held at Sunayana auditorium on September 24, Chief of cardiology P. Chandrasekhar said. Senior Interventional cardiologist of Kovai Medical Centre and Hospital at Coimbatore, Thomas Alexander would deliver a lecture on prevention of heart attack in Indian scenario, he added. Dr. Chandrasekhar recalled that Kurnool Heart Foundation was set up to promote the prevention aspects and cardiac care.

The Collector felicitated Chief of cardiothoracic surgery C. Prabhakar Reddy and lauded him for conducting 100 bypass surgeries. Dr. Chandrasekhar felicitated the Collector with a shawl and memento. Doctor Bhavani Prasad, assistant professor Mohd. Ali, and Hoteliers Association president K. Chandrasekhar Kalkura took part.
