The Communist Party of India-Marxist city unit has demanded the Central Government to withdraw the hike in LPG prices immediately. The party also wanted the Government to lift the cap on number of subsidised LPG cylinders supplied per year.

It said that the hike in price of LPG cylinder was a burden of Rs.65 crore on city people.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, party city unit secretary Ch. Babu Rao said that the government hiked the LPG cylinder price before the turn of page in calendar after announcing cap on the subsidised LPG cylinders.

The government was poised to break the back of commoner. It was increasing the prices of petrol, diesel and LPG on one plea or the other. CPI(M) executive member Donepudi Kasinath was also present.
