Avinash says the Congress is the best bet for the development of residuary State of Andhra Pradesh.

Congress candidate for Vijayawada Lok Sabha Constituency Devineni Avinash has said that he will be in Vijayawada to serve the people whether he won or lost in the elections.

Interacting with media persons at a Meet-the-Press programme organised by the Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists here on Wednesday, Mr. Avinash said that the Telugu Desam and the YSRC have selected businessmen as their candidates. Business would continue to be their first priority even after being elected. This was the experience of political parties till now.

Mr. Avinash said that he did not have any business interest and that serving the people was the only interest he had. His father and former Minister Devineni Rajasekhar was a highly respected political leader who served people and as his son he would continue doing public service.

He said if the TDP and the YSRC candidates lost, they would pack up their bags and go away but he would continue to stay here .

Asked why he was continuing with the Congress that was responsible for bifurcation of the State after playing an active role in the anti-bifurcation movement, Mr. Avinash said that the real culprits for bifurcation were some Union Ministers and MPs. Now that they had gone to other parties and that the Congress party was the best bet for the development of residuary State of Andhra Pradesh he was continuing with it.

The Congress gave refuge to his family when they were facing difficult times in politics and the party also honoured him in a big way by giving him a ticket even though he was just 26 years.
