Wheels of running school bus go off, none hurt

July 26, 2014 12:34 am | Updated 12:34 am IST - VATSAVAI (KRISHNA DT):

A major mishap was averted on Friday when the rear wheels of a school bus got separated from the axle at Ramachandrunipet here. However, none was hurt as the vehicle was moving slowly. The incident has cast doubts on the fitness of school buses.

According to police, the bus, belonging to Sri Chaitanya Techno School at Jaggaiahpet, was carrying 48 children from Kapavaram and Rayagudem villages in the neighbouring Khammam district and Hanumanthupalli and Takkellapadu in Jaggaiahpet mandal to the school.

As news spread quickly, Revenue and Transport Department officials rushed to the spot and later sought an explanation from the school management response.
