The Endowments Department and Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishat of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will jointly organise ‘mana gudi’ programme in the city from Monday.
Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Endowments Department Krishna District Assistant Commissioner Ch. Durga Prasad and Mana Gudi Krishna District special officer D. V. Srihari said that fourth spell of ‘mana gudi’ was being organised to inculcate spiritual thinking among the youth.
The programme was also aimed at protecting the Hindu culture and tradition. As part of the programme, bilva dalalu (Bael leaves) would be supplied to 6A and 6B temples in the district. There were about 40 such temples in the district where ‘mana gudi’ would be organised, they said.
The leaves would be made available for the devotees visiting these temples. One lakh twin leaves were collected and handed over to One Town Sivalayam and other major temples. Bilvarchana would be organised at all major temples and ‘vana bhojanam’ organised.
Satyanarayana vratams would be performed at Harijana wadas on Wednesday which happens to be Kartika suddha ekadasi. Laksha deeparchana programme would be organised at TTD Kalayana Mandapam here on November 17, they said, adding, the ‘mana gudi’ programme would be organised in 900 temples located in the district.
Dharama Prachara Parishat legal advisor Yabaluri Lokanatha Sarma, vice president Boggavarapu Venkata Balakoteswara Rao, and youth coordinator N. Sivaji were present.
‘Vanabhojanams’
All arrangements have been made for the week-day ‘Mana Gudi’ programme to be held in 620 temples, in the district.
The programme will begin with ‘Vana bhojanams’ and ‘Laksha Bilvarchana’ pujas, on Monday at different places and in 58 shrines respectively. Devotees will perform ‘Laksha Bilvarchana’ pujas praying Lord Shiva to give peace, good health, rainfall and crops, said ‘Mana Gudi’ Guntur district in-charge and TTD Divisional Engineer Srikanth Reddy.
Endowments Department Assistant Commissioner B. Maheswara Reddy said that ‘Satyanarayana Vratams’ would be performed on ‘Kartika Suddha Ekadasi ( November 13) and ‘Tulasi Pujas’ on ‘Kartika Sudha Dwadasi’ on the next day.
‘Laksha deeparadhana’ would be organised on ‘Kartika Sudha Pournami’ (Nov.17) said Dharma Prachara Mandali Guntur district secretary Ch.V.V. Prasad.
DPP programme assistant E. Ammadu said that spiritual discourses, ‘hari kathas’ and ‘puranams’ will be rendered at the temples during the ‘Mana Gudi’ programme. Devotees are requested to participate in the ‘pujas’ in large numbers and make the programme a success, said Ms. Ammadu.
