The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) would open its proposed budget for 2011-12 for public debate and discuss its contents with them, on Monday.
The Corporation officials would present the proposals in the general body meeting hall at 11 a.m.
The Open Budget is being introduced to enable the public to understand the Corporation's plans for raising revenue and spending public funds.
The exercise is intended to elicit opinions and suggestions on various issues, more particularly on revenues.
Members of the public could suggest ways and means to raise the Corporation's revenues.
