The new digital signboard erected by the VMC authorities at Benz Circle on an experimental basis started functioning fully from Tuesday, adding a new attraction to the busy junction.

The board displays the name of the junction (Benz Circle) in stationary mode in one line, and below it displays the names of Autonagar, Ramavarappadu and Kanakadurgamma Vaaradhi with arrow marks for those coming from the police control room side. The VMC plans to erect one more digital sign board for the vehicle users coming from NTR circle side, so that it would help the road users on both directions of Benz circle even during night time.

Municipal Commissioner P. S. Pradyumna said that the Corporation was planning to put up similar boards at 10 more places, including the police control room junction, Siddhartha junction and Mother Theresa junction. The city-based Efftronics and Prakash Arts assisted the Corporation in readying the boards. The VMC was yet to arrive at the expenditure involved in the making of these boards, he said. The Commissioner said that the Corporation was putting up sign boards across the city for easy identification of roads.
