Over 60 visually challenged musicians from different parts of the State assembled at Abhinetra Integrated Home for Blind on Sunday and paid tributes to Sir Louis Braille on his 203rd birth anniversary in which city legislator Malladi Vishnu and Andhra Arts Academy president B. Narayana Rao took part as guests of honour.
Speaking at the function, Mr. Vishnu advised the members of the Abhinetra Integrated Home for Blind to submit an application for the allotment of land to construct a permanent structure.
He also exhorted the general public to offer a helping hand to enable them (visually challenged) to live with dignity.
Mr. Narayana Rao said though they were visually challenged they possessed a strong will to face the adversities of life and exhorted society to stand by them.
The musicians enthralled the viewers for more than two hours churning out popular Tollywood songs such as ‘Mounangane Edhagamani…', ‘Punnya Bhoomi Na Desam..' and ‘Bhale Manchi Roju..'.
Later, Mr. Vishnu presented all of them with a talking watch and blankets.
