Vijayawada to host Poetic Prism-2015

September 19, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:50 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

As part of an attempt to restore the lost sheen of Vijayawada city, once known as a vibrant hub of art, literature and culture, the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada (CCV) is organising Poetic Prism-2015, a multi-lingual poet’s meet at the AP Tourism Development Corporation’s Harita Berm Park at Bhavanipuram on Saturday.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the event in which luminaries from various walks of life from across the country will participate.

The CCV, through the initiative, is trying to bring poets across the country on a common platform and dole out a rare treat in the form of multilingual poetic expressions. “The poetic soiree will also showcase the all-embracing culture of Andhra Pradesh that seeks to promote talents from across the country. Literature lovers can feast on various genres of poetry such as Japanese haiku, Telugu padhyams, Sanskrit shlokas, Urdu ghazals and shero-shayari,” CCV CEO E. Sivanagi Reddy said.

The Chief Minister will also unveil a multilingual anthology of poetry titled Poetic Prism 2015 , curated by the CCV, on the occasion.
