Vijayawada Railway division earns 10.12 cr. during Dasara

During this period Vijayawada station booking window earnings registered an increase of 48.19 per cent over the previous year

The earnings of Vijayawada Railway Division was Rs.10.12 crore during the Dasara festival season as against Rs.7.43 crore during last season, showing an increase of 36.14 per cent according to a release.

During this period Vijayawada station booking window earnings registered an increase of 48.19 per cent over the previous year. This could be achieved due to constant monitoring of the traffic trends at stations, operation of additional booking counters at Vijayawada, Tenali, Kakinada Town, Kakinada Port, Samalkot, Rajahmundry and Tuni Railway stations and augmenting additional coaches and running special trains.

The Ticket Checking earnings were Rs.2.22 lakh during this period and 682 cases were detected in 18 Special Checks conducted by the officers and staff.

Divisional Railway Manager Pradeep Kumar appreciated the efforts made by the Commercial Officers, Commercial Staff, RPF Personnel, Scouts and Guides for smooth functioning of Booking Counters and clearing rush during the festival season.

Change in timings

Train No.17211/17212 Machilipatnam-Yeswantpur-Machilipatnam Express trains will halt at Narasaraopet in Guntur district with effect from November 2 on an experimental basis for a period of six months.

Train No.17211 Machilipatnam-Yeswantpur Express will arrive/depart Guntur at 6.00 p.m./6.05 p.m., Narasaraopet at 6.53 p.m./6.54 p.m. and Donakonda at 7.50 p.m./7.51 p.m.

In the return direction, Train No.17212 Yeswantpur-Machilipatnam Express will arrive/depart Donakonda at 1.05 a.m./1.06 a.m., Narasaraopet at 2.30 a.m./2.31 a.m. and Guntur at 3.35 a.m./3.40 a.m. Train No.17643/17644 Chennai Egmore-Kakinada-Chennai Egmore Circar Express will halt at Mangalagiri with effect from November 1 on an experimental basis for a period of six months. Accordingly, Train No. 17643 Chennai Egmore Circar Express will arrive/depart at New Guntur at 1.40 a.m./1.42 a.m., Mangalagiri at 2.02 a.m./2.03 a.m. and Vijayawada at 3.00 a.m./3.25 a.m.

In the return direction, Train No.17644 Kakinada-Chennai Egmore Express will arrive/depart Vijayawada at 8.45 p.m./9.05 p.m. Mangalagiri at 9.27 p.m./9.28 p.m. and New Guntur at 9.40 p.m./9.42 p.m.
