Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Commissioner K. Bhaskar ordered the Sanitation Department officials to take immediate action against people littering on the roads.

During the inspection tour to Bhavanipuram and H.B.Colony the Commissioner expressed his disappointment at the lack of cleanliness despite the facility of waste being collected from each house.

The Commissioner found out that people were dumping their wastes on the road despite the daily collection of waste by VMC employees. He directed the Sanitary Inspector to identify such people and punish them accordingly. Later, he inspected the flooded areas in Urmila Subba Rao Nagar, Brahmaiah Colony, and Rotary Nagar and checked the motors pumping out the flood water.

He ordered the officials to provide clean water, bleaching powder, and phenol to the residents in the area to clean their houses. The Commissioner was accompanied by Executive Engineer Om Prakash, Health Officer Gopal Naik and other officials.
