Vijayawada Communications SP dies in bus accident

Andhra Pradesh Police Communications SP Nandyala Hari Prasad was returning to Vijayawada after attending an official meeting at Hyderabad when the mishap occurred.

Superintendent of Police (Andhra Pradesh Police Communications) Nandyala Hari Prasad (58) of Vijayawada region, was killed in a road accident in Nalgonda district in the early hours on Tuesday.

The accident occurred when the bus in which the officer was travelling hit a stationary lorry at Munagala village. He was returning to Vijayawada after attending an official meeting at Hyderabad in view of State bifurcation. Seven other passengers sustained injuries in the mishap.

Mr. Hari Prasad, who was the in-charge for seven districts, served the region for the past six years. He is survived by wife N. Sai Kumari, son and a daughter.

“The SP was about to retire in two months. We received information about the tragic incident at around 4 a.m. The officer was good to us,” the Police Communication staff said.
