Vendors, hawkers to get loans

Action plans have been prepared to extend loans to vendors and hawkers operating in municipal areas through poverty eradication agencies, district Collector Budha Prakash M. Jyothi said on Friday.

The Collector reviewed the activity of the different welfare corporations at a meeting with bankers held in his camp office conference here.

The Collector asked all the welfare corporations to ensure that the beneficiaries ground the project for which they were extended loan by March 15.

He said that action plans had been prepared to extend loans to a maximum of Rs. 15,000 for vendors and hawkers and urged the bankers to come out with schemes for them. He said that bankers should strive to meet their targets in extending loans to the different beneficiaries before the end of the financial year.

He said the State government was extending loans on subsidy through banks to promote the economic emancipation of various target groups. He said the targets set for extending of loans to SC, ST, BC, minority, Christian minority corporations, Rajiv Yuva Sakthi and physically challenged welfare should be achieved by the end of the financial year.
