Vehicle theft gang members arrested

Police on Wednesday arrested seven persons for allegedly committing vehicle thefts in the city. Nineteen motorcycles worth over Rs. 2.5 lakh were recovered from the the accused identified as A. Ratnakar Rao (25), B. Krishna (28), B. Nagaraju (30), M. Rajasekhar (25), M. Vijayadurga Prasad (25), N. Srinivas (30) and K. Durga Babu (25). The police said the gang members would first scout for parking lots and steal vehicles from there, using duplicate keys.

They resorted to the offence to afford a lavish life . The gang had stolen vehicles from Machavaram, Penamaluru, Krishnalanka, Governorpet and other areas. Nine persons, who purchased the stolen vehicles, were arrested.
