Varsity gearing up for 2nd convocation: KRU V-C

Krishna University authorities are gearing up for the varsity’s second convocation that is likely to be held in August here. Speaking to The Hindu , Vice-Chancellor of the university Professor V. Venkaiah said that the construction of the university buildings would begin in a few months.

“We are now allowed to construct G+II (Ground+2) building on our site at Rudravaram village. Initially, the first phase of building construction project is including construction of an administrative building and hostel facility”, Mr. Venkaiah said. The building construction project would be handed over to the Central Public Works Department in a few weeks in order to start the works in the financial year 2014-15.

On introduction of new career oriented courses, Mr. Venkaiah maintained that the university, in collaboration with Bharat Electronics Limited, Machilipatnam, will offer a post-graduation course in electronics, which is in its crucial stage now. The course is most likely to be offered in the present academic year 2014-15 according to him. The Vice-Chancellor expressed his deep sense of satisfaction after the Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia has accepted his proposal to consider the university for their Annual Awards for students.
