New Delhi-based Gandhi Global Family will organise Yuvajanotsavam and a conclave of Gandhians, christened Vande Gandheeyam, to commemorate Gandhiji birth anniversary on October 2.
Programme coordinator S. Narasaraju said elocution competitions were held in 16 constituencies in the district for college and school students. About 5,000 students took part in the competitions. The three students who stood first would be given Rs.5,000 each, while three students in second rank would be given Rs. 3,000 each, and Rs. 2,000 each to three candidates who secured third position, he said.
Mr. Narasaraju said people could express their opinion on Gandhism by sending SMS in 30 words or email or post to the organisers. The SMS should be sent to 56070, and email to vandeygandheeyam@gmail.com.
The post should be sent to Chairperson, Vandey Gandheeyam, IGMC Stadium, M G Road, Vijayawada-10 on or before September 29. The entry would be closed at 5 p.m. that day, he said.
