Officials are rejecting applications to regularise plots in Ambapuram citing LRS deadline
The Vijayawada Guntur Tenali Mangalagiri Urban Development Authority (VGTMUDA) at its board meeting on Monday has decided to withdraw the notification issued to acquire land for developing Ambapuram Township.
The UDA in its last meeting had asked the Krishna district Collector to send a report to the State government to take necessary action.
The UDA higher-ups, though did not divulge information on whether GO was issued in this regard, said: “The township proposal has been shelved. The project would not take off and notification withdrawn.”
Maa Bhoomi president P. Koteswara Rao said that the officials told him that the G.O. was issued to withdraw the notification.
It was the result of a protracted struggle of small plot owners that made the Government issue the G.O.
Now the problem before the plot owners and farmers was lapse of deadline of Layout Regulation Scheme (LRS).
The UDA officials were rejecting the applications to regularise the plots owned by the people in Ambapuram citing the LRS deadline. Many of the plot owners and farmers have paid the requisite fee under the LRS.
The UDA issued demand notices with the rider that the regulation would be subject to cancellation of Ambapuram Township.
The UDA has not taken necessary action even for those who paid total amount, he said.
Instead, the officials are stating that they had to forfeit the fee paid under the LRS, he said, adding, the government should consider the Ambapuram plot owners as special case and extend the deadline of LRS.
