Two engineering students were killed on the spot and another suffered injuries when they were run over by a lorry at Nidamanuru on Wednesday.
The deceased have been identified as Kota Yadagiri (20) and Anne Vamshi (20), studying Mechanical Engineering final year in Andhra Loyola Institute of Engineering Technology, Vijayawada. The injured, Kiran, has been admitted to a hospital. The trio were returning after appearing for theexaminations, said Patamata Circle Inspector K. Damodar
The lorry which knocked down their vehicle fled from the scene. An orphan,Yadagiri, was an inmate of Care and Share NGO, while Vamshi is a resident of Darsipeta. The victims fell from the two-wheeler and the lorry which was following their vehicle ran over them.
