Two bird poachers caught by the forest authorities at Gokarnapuram village near Kolleru Birds Sanctuary in Krishna district on Thursday were granted bail by a local court. According to Kaikaluru Forest Ranger D. Rammohan Singh, two poachers G. The birds seized from the poachers are two Jakanas, two Whistling Teals, including one large Whistling Teal, and eight Indian Herons. All are local resident birds at the Kolleru Lake and surrounding water bodies. “A case was booked under the Section 9, 27 and punishable Sections of the AP Wildlife Act 1972,” Mr. Rammohan told The Hindu.
