The Telugu Desam Party has alleged that the TRS and T-JAC leaders were spoiling the academics of students by forcing the educational institutions to close down their shutters.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, TDP State general secretary P. Anuradha alleged that TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao and T-JAC convener Kodandaram were adopting double standards with regard to educational institutions.
On one hand, they were depriving the commoner of education by closing the schools and colleges. They, however, do not touch the schools like Oakridge International School where their kith and kin study, she said.
Prof. Kodandaram has been acting as an agent of the TRS under the garb of leading the agitation for Telangana. Had he been a genuine academician he would not have forced the educational institutions to close down their shutters. The future of hundreds of students in Telangana was at crossroads, she said and asked “Does Prof. Kodandaram have an answer to this?”
Prof. Kodandaram always acted with vested interests, and his behaviour was a disgrace to the profession, she said. “And we have all necessary evidences to prove that he became a professor from backdoor during Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy's tenure,” she alleged.
Referring to KCR, she said he was putting commoner to hardships. Though the workers at Singareni do not wish to participate in the strike they were forced to. Their real voice was unheard, she said and asked, “What do they want to do to Telangana? Does KCR want to turn the Telangana into a hotbed for Naxalites?”
Telugu Mahila State president Shobha Hymavathi said the State government had utterly failed in tackling the general strike. Utter chaos was prevailing in the State, she added.
The Congress government failed to develop the State, but achieved the dubious distinction of ignoring atrocities against women, corruption, and price rise.
The days were not far away when the people would revolt against the government, she said, adding, the Telugu Mahila would build an agitation from village-level.
