Truck-parking area on NH-5 opened

Executive Director of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., Andhra Pradesh, B. S. Canth on Wednesday inaugurated a truck parking area adjacent to the Krishna District Lorry Owners’ Association petrol pump at Nidamanuru.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Canth said that the IOC had taken the initiative to network retail outlets on National Highway No. 5 by selecting certain outlets located on this highway and creating facilities such as driveway, canopy, high mast lights, truck parking area, bathing area, dhaba and dormitory to cater to the needs of the inter-State highway transporters/ truck crew.

The NH-5 with a spread of 1,100 k.m., originates from Jharpokiria of West Bengal and terminates at Chennai. Daily on an average, nearly 5,000 Heavy Carriage Vehicles pass through this Highway. DGM (Retail Sales), IOC, Hyderabad, Sanjiv Sharma, Chief Manager (Retail Sales) Samir Sinha, Chief Divisional Retail Sales Manager, Vijayawada division office, P. Kumaravel, IOC officers, dealers and members of Krishna District Lorry Owners Association were present.
