August 21, 2014 12:02 am | Updated 12:02 am IST - Vijayawada:

As the government indicated its preference to encouraging renewable energy, the Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh has convened a meeting with prospective solar power developers on August 22 at Vidyut Soudha, the power utilities headquarters.

The meeting comes as part of efforts by the New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation and the power utilities to promote green energy. It follows the request for selection document hosted by the Transco for procurement of 500 MW power through e-procurement mode. Transco Chairman and MD K. Vijayanand said prospective solar power developers could seek clarifications and give their feedback on the bid document hosted on the websites of the power utilities. Developers could utilise the opportunity in supporting the utilities in meeting the target within the specified timeframe.
