This small industrial town is bustling with activity and being almost at the centre point between Guntur and Gurazala it has a constant rush of vehicles to and from Macherla and the State Capital.

But, the main road through which a bulk of the traffic moves is apparently congested. It is in need of widening to ease the traffic congestion.

The town police station centre is the hub of activity and the main road has a few bottlenecks as some shops and business establishments are haphazardly located.

The movement of heavy duty vehicles is a particular irritant and for the two-wheelers, negotiating the dense traffic is a big task. So is the job of crossing the road for pedestrians.

At a short distance from the police station is located a bus bay for the RTC to stop its vehicles and pick up passengers en-route. This is one area where traffic regulation is a headache as auto-rickshaws virtually swarm the place while a host of vehicles keep criss-crossing the road.

The travails of the public during the rush hour in the morning have to be seen to imagine the situation.

The footpaths are encroached causing many a problem to pedestrians. The town has no by-pass route which will be extremely useful for faster movement of vehicles.

Removal of encroachments is the only solution for the time being and it will facilitate road widening in the due course. The civic officials are expected to draw a roadmap for it sooner than later.
