Andhra Pradesh Tourism Contract Manpower Daily Wage Employees’ and Workers’ Union staged a protest in front of the department office here on Tuesday, seeking pay hike.

The protesters wanted A.P Tourism Development Corporation Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Neerabh Kumar Prasad to take urgent steps for increasing the wages of employees of all categories according to the Pay Revision Commission recommendations and ensuring parity (equal wage for equal work).

Union Secretary P. Nagu said that the employees needed provident fund and ESI (employees’ state insurance) facilities as most of them were from the poor economical background. Besides, employees have to be given promotions on the basis of seniority . Leave travel concession has to be restored and other benefits should also be extended, they said.
