Three persons died on the spot and one was seriously injured in a road accident near Kesarapalli village close to Vijayawada airport in the early hours of Monday.
The deceased have been identified as P. Krishna (50), P. Nagamani (45) and Suresh (32). The injured has been identified as P. Chiranjeevi (27).
The accident occurred at about 2 am when the Chevrolet – Tavera vehicle in which they were travelling on NH5, from Razole in East Godavari district to Hyderabad, rammed into the rear portion of a lorry. While Krishna and his wife Nagamani died on the spot, their son Chiranjeevi was seriously injured and is said to have slipped into coma. He is undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Vijayawada. The Gannavaram police informed that the driver of the vehicle Suresh also died on the spot.
