A nine-year old girl was among three persons killed in a road accident on the National Highway at Chinakondrapadu village on Thursday morning. The accident took place when one of the tyres of the car burst resulting in the vehicle turning turtle and hitting the road divider.

The victims were identified as Kundellu Ravi Kiran (30), Dhullipalla Yogitha (9) and Kundelu Rajyam (60). Four others who were injured were being treated at the emergency wing at Katuri Medical College.

Police said nine members from two families were returning from a trip to Tirupati. According to one of the family members travelling in the car, Ravi Kiran, who was driving the vehicle, said he was feeling drowsy and wanted to rest for a while. Even before he could stop, one of the car tyres burst leading to the mishap.
