Three dead in wall collapse in Vijayawada

Three persons of the same family died in a wall collapse in the city on Thursday.

The victims were supervising the demolition of a slab that connected two buildings, when the retaining wall of the slab collapsed on them in Kothapeta area of the old town at about 10 a.m.

Of the three dead while Tammina Bhavannarayana(50) died on the spot, Tammina Chandrasekhar(51) and Mulapaka Ramu(60) died at the hospital where they were shifted for treatment. Bhavannarayana's mother Krishnaveni (70), who was also present in the scene was injured and is being treated in a private hospital.

The police and rescue teams arrived at the venue and cleared the debris.
