Blindness was not a hindrance for Nagaraju and Chiranjeevi as they got selected as Probationary Officers (POs) in Allahabad Bank. Success did not come overnight, like many others aspiring for a bank job, they worked hard day in and out and finally emerged triumphant.
These visually challenged persons, Bathula Chiranjeevi and Kandula Nagaraju, underwent training in the Sreedhar’s College for Competitive Exams (CCE) located at Suryaraopet in Vijayawada.
Chiranjeevi and Nagaraju completed M.A in English and Telugu respectively in Andhra Loyola College, and appeared for Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) examinations and got selected as POs.
Dream“It is my dream to become an officer and I succeeded in realising it. Now, I want to help people who are in need,” said Mr. Nagaraju, a native of Mangalagiri, and thanked CCE’s director K. Sridhar and his partner B. Seetarami Reddy for providing them free coaching. “I lost my eyesight when I was 12-year-old, due to retina problem. I took coaching for about five months and appeared for the interview last month. Sreedhar’s CCE provided soft copy of the study material and audio of the lectures which helped in getting through the IBPS examination,” said Mr. Chiranjeevi.
InspirationSpeaking to The Hindu , Mr. Sreedhar said the young men worked hard with commitment in spite of visual impairment. They changed the soft copy of the study material into audio, practised vigorously and prepared for examinations. “We provided attendants for Nagaraju and Chiranjeevi for attending classes and returning home regularly. Our faculty are happy for their success. Hope they will get postings in the nearby branches.
The success of the visually challenged students will be an inspiration for other students in our institution. CCE will continue to help physically and visually challenged students by extending free coaching,” Mr. Sreedhar said.
