It was a different world for students who gathered at Nalanda Vidya Niketan to participate in the mega art contest conducted by Spoorthi Creative Art School here on Sunday.

The delicate brush strokes were untrained. And yet, there was a sense of purpose and seriousness, as children gave shape to their deep inner thoughts.

‘Titanic tragedy', ‘Water world', and ‘Favourite holiday spot' were themes of the competition.

The themes were translated on to canvas in a riot of colour.

“We have received good response for the painting competition. Children are very enthusiastic about their painting,” said G. Srinivas. The competition saw an overwhelming response with over 200 children from various schools participating.

The enthusiasm among students had been consistently increasing, he said.

Telugu film actor Pilla Prasad and Limca book record holder B.M.P. Singh, who participated as guests, gave away prizes to the winners.

Artistes Krishna Pullaiah and Kalasagar were judges for the competition.
