The Hindu In School will organise Chess Competition-2016 at P.B. Siddhartha Arts & Science College Auditorium at Mogulrajpuram on August 6. The participants will be divided into two groups of juniors (classes 5 to 8) and seniors (classes 9 to 12).

Students interested in enrolling their names may contact K.V. Narasimham (9848866499), V.V.B. Satyanarayana (9849711799), V. Sai Srinivas (9849998519) or N. Aditya Sundar (7032652882).

Spot registrations will be allowed and the process will start at the venue at 9 a.m.

Students who opt for online registration should bring a printout of the confirmatory email received from The Hindu along with their school identity card. Both documents are mandatory and need to be submitted at the registration desk. The tournament will be played on Swiss League basis under latest FIDE Rapid Rules.

Players will have to bring their own chess sets and chess clocks and the decision of the tournament committee will be final and binding to all and it will have every right to make addition/amendments to the rules.

The organisers can also exercise the right to accept or reject any entry without assigning any reason and the right to admission to the venue also rests with the organisers.

Prize distribution

Prize distribution will take place the same day at 5 p.m. The first nine toppers will get prizes along with merit certificates while every participant will receive a participation certificate. For more information, visitwww.thehindu.com/
