Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla Devasthanam is gearing up to conduct Bhavani deeksha viramana (relinquishment) scheduled from December 16.
District Collector S.A.M. Rizvi reviewed the arrangements being made for the deekhsa viramana, here on Thursday. On the occasion, he directed the officials to complete the works before December 14 for smooth conduct of the Bhavani deeksha viramana (relinquishment). A 24-hour control line would be started at Model Guest House to assist the pilgrims, he said.
All arrangements were being made at the bathing ghats and other places to ensure trouble-free deeksha viramana for the pilgrims. All the ghats, including Durga ghat, Punnami ghat, Padmavathi ghat, Sitammvaripadalu, Dobhi ghat, would be spruced up for the relinquishment. Showers, dress changing rooms, tonsuring places, chappal stands, cloak rooms, toilets and first aid would be provided by the temple at all ghats, he said.
Keeping in view devotee rush, 12 lakh laddus and 10,000 kg of pulihora would be prepared during the Bhavani deeksha viramana days. Uninterrupted power supply would be provided in areas surrounding Indrakeeladri for smooth conduct of giri pradakshina. The temple would open 11 prasadam counters, including at the railway station and bus station, to facilitate fast movement of devotees, he added.
The VMC would provide sanitation services. All the roads leading to temple would be repaired immediately. A free bus service would be provided from railway station, bus station to Bhavanighat, Punnami ghat for every half an hour. The bhavanis after completing giri pradakshinam, circumambulation of Indrakeeladri, would have to join queue line from Vinayaka temple.
