The administration of Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla Devasthanam has turned controversial with local political leaders and two Executive Officers of the temple trading charges against each other and even filing a First Information Report against YSR Congress leader Vangaveeti Radhakrishna and a city TDP leader Buddha Venkanna.

The two political leaders had gone to Durga temple three days ago when a controversy arose over opening of the EO’s room for the incumbent EO Vishnu Prasad to assume office as incharge.

The suspended EO had locked the room and had obtained a quashing of the suspension of the order from the Tribunal. The room was, however, later opened with Revenue and Endowment officials present there along with the police personnel.

At a press conference in Vijayawada on Thursday, Mr. Vangaveeti Radhakrishna threatened to file a case against the EOs for falsely implicating him in the case, while he had gone there to ensure the files from the room were not taken away by the former EO Raghunadh so that all the alleged misappropriation of funds came into the open when an inquiry was conducted.

Mr. Radha wanted all the shops atop Indrakeeladri be raided and the original owners found out, which according to him were some Congress leaders or their men.

He wanted the licences cancelled if impersonation was being done. “If such an exercise can be taken up at the Rythu Bazaar, why not at Indrakeeladri, he questioned the District Collector.

He alleged that he had told Mr. Ramachandraiah, about the irregularities at the temple even before he had become a Minister, but no action was initiated.
