April 22, 2013 02:43 pm | Updated June 10, 2016 10:22 am IST - AVANIGADDA (KRISHNA DISTRICT):

Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu and party district leaders paid rich tributes to former Machilipatnam MP and Avanigadda MLA Ambati Brahmanaiah (74).

Mr. Brahmanaiah, who earned reputation as farmer-friendly leader in Diviseema region, died in Hyderabad in the early hours of Sunday. Body was brought by road to District Party office in Vijayawada and from there shifted to Avanigadda.

Mr. Chandrababu Naidu, who was in ‘Mee Kosam Padayatra’ in Visakhapatnam district, arrived at the Gannavaram Airport at 2 p.m. and drove down to Avanigadda. Mr. Naidu consoled the family members and said that the party had lost one of its key leaders in the State.

“His services to the party as well as farming community of the district are laudable,” he added. A pall of gloom descended on the village as the news trickled in and a huge gathering of partymen and locals was there to pay tributes to Bhrahmanaiah at Avanigadda. Last rites were performed in his native village amid full State honours.
