With less than a month to go for Krishna Pushkarams, the city’s cultural buffs are pitching in with their creativity to highlight the river festival celebrated once in 12 years.

Archery administrator Cherukuri Satyanarayana, who co-produced a 10-minute song on Andhra Pradesh titled ‘Amaravathi Geetham’ with Madhuri Media Works earlier, has came out with his own - Krishna Theeram, a five-minute song. The 80-second teaser on it is already gaining hits in social media.

The teaser, released by Volga Archery Productions, highlights the river, the city and the new capital city Amaravati. “The song, ‘Mana Krishna Nadhitheeram, Kanaka Durga Kali Kalam’, is written by celebrity lyricist Suddhala Ashok Teja and music scored by Yasho Krishnan. Singers Dhunjay, Ramki and Jai Sriram have rendered their voice. The song will be released by this month end and we are trying to get Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to release it,” said Mr. Satyanarayana.

He said a seven-member camera crew had spent 15 days shooting places where the river traversed until reaching the Bay of Bengal. “We used state-of-the-art cameras to shoot more than 100 locations in Krishna district. We are also highlighting the kings, poets, artistes, temples and the culture of Krishna district.”

Mr. Satyanarayana said the song was written seven months ago and the shooting started on June 1. An audio song on the eating habits and the traditional cuisine of Andhra Pradesh will also be released on that day, he said.

“The song will be highlighting the savouries of all the regions of Andhra Pradesh. A special mention will be there for items such as Vada Pappu , Kudumulu, Undrallu and Ugadi Pacchadi,” he said.
